Forsaking Mimosa - A delightful read by a local author!

I have known Valerie Winn for a year now, and have known that she was an author for most of that time.  When the Greenhouse opened in January, Valerie immediately began to visit, bringing her writing group.  One thing lead to another, we had a book signing for Valerie, and I ended up with a new book to read.  The shop has kept me so busy, that it took me 3 months to crack the cover, but once I did, Forsaking Mimosa kept my attention and I devoured it as quickly as I could.

I loved the characters in the story which was set back in the late 30's and early 40's, and even though they were of a completely different time, I could relate them.

Max is a high school boy, and learns his catholic school is closing.  Instead of allowing him to attend the public school, his father moves his family to a farm outside of town and sends Max and his siblings to the closest catholic school, which just happens to be an ALL GIRLS SCHOOL!

I was so delighted with the book and the story and I hope you will read it too!  We have a few copies at the shop! Come read a few pages, and if you like it, take one home!
