Susan's Bio:
I have been making art since I was 5 years old; peddling my art work door to door for dimes and cookies. Therefore, I have had the opportunity to explore many media. I have been a printmaker, paper maker, candlestick maker, and more. Not being entirely successful in art peddling, I worked as an art therapist and an art teacher for 45 years. I am currently working at the Gulf Coast Research Lab as a photographer.

I love found objects and combining media and textures. These canvas paintings reflect my appreciation for the graceful lines of boats and the idea of the boat as a metaphor for self / journey.

The Landscapes are a result of my recent trip to northern New Mexico. I enjoy landscape painting as it requires an improvisation between you , nature and the moment.
