BIscuit Tournament 2016!!! FINALS!

WELL, THIS IS THE END OF AN AMAZING BISCUIT TOURNAMENT!  We've made incredible memories!  We've laughed, we've eaten and now we have decided the best of the best in the final FINAL round of the 2016 biscuit tournament.  

In the savory side of the competition:  

TEXARKANA AMOR (TA):  Poblano, corn and tomato biscuits with black bean hummus and sour cream fluff by Matt Sukiennik.

In the sweet side of the competition:  

FANCY CAMPER (FC): Graham cracker biscuits with dark chocolate, marshmallow fluff and salted caramel by Maura Worch.

FC: I will "fancily camp" outside the greenhouse whenever you serve the fancy camper
TA: Because "the the way I like it"
FC: The delightfully crumbly biscuit was perfectly complemented by the sensual caramel, seductive chocolate, and fluffy-awesome marshmallow fluff!
TA: Tasted like El Chap himself created this South of the border masterpiece!

SEMI FINALS!!!! Already?  Really?  YEP! 

In the savory side of the competition:  

NACHO CHIP (NC): Nacho chip, oregano, and cheese biscuits with pico de gallo and feta fluff by Cathy Colquett.  
VS
TEXARKANA AMOR(TA):  Poblano, corn and tomato biscuits with black bean hummus and sour cream fluff by Matt Sukiennik.

In the sweet side of the competition:  

SLOW AS MOLASSES (SAM): Spiced molasses biscuits with sweet fluff and apple butter by Dani Bailey. 
VS
FANCY CAMPER (FC): Graham cracker biscuits with dark chocolate, marshmallow fluff and salted caramel by Maura Worch.

HERE IS WHAT YOU THOUGHT OF THE BISCUITS:

NC: In my mind, Nacho Chip is the perfect savory biscuit! It has a hint of spiciness that is so great with the fixins.  
FC:  The Fancy Camper is  a perfect blend of flavor.  
FC: This was the hardest tournament Wednesday yet.  I have to go with Fancy Camper.  It stood out through out the whole tournament.  
TA:  I still love the black bean hummus and sour cream fluff on this biscuit so much that I always find my self having to vote for the TA. 
SAM: Just right!  Spiced fluff! 
NC: Tasted exactly like nachos
TA: Absolutely amazing!  I enjoyed the black bean hummus.  I love spicy food and this dish had a perfect of amount of spice like Buttercup from the Powerpuff Girls.
NC: YUM!
FC:  A can't miss!
FC: I truly got the whole amores effect, with bursts of dark chocolate even a subtle graham reference.  Fancy camper is fun!
TA:  This one is tough!  They're both flavorful and in the same southwest family.  My ultimate vote, though, goes to TA.  It has smooth finish (if you will) with poblano and cilantro in front.  
SAM: Because DANG!
FC: Awful Guuuuuuuudddd!
NC: Can you REALLY vote AGAINST Pico de gallo and feta Fluff?  I tried but failed! 
SAM: Honoring my life's motto: "Slow as Molasses" Only choice in this one!
SAM: the best of all 4!  The apple butter with molasses is the perfect combo. 
FC: OMG MARSHMALLOW + CARAMEL <3
TA:  Amor a primera vista! 
SAM: Give me some mo o' that molasses baby!
FC: The caramel put it over the edge!
TA: The black bean hummus was a revelation and the touch of poblano in the biscuit was sublime!

JP: Loved the lemon hibiscus fluff
BBB:  I usually don't like anything with buffalo sauce on it.... And I almost didn't even try it-- But OMG! It was delicious!  Spicy but not overwhelming.
TA: The black bean hummus sold me!
FC: Gave me a mouthgasm
BBB:  At 40 years of age, I just had buffalo sauce for breakfast for the first time ever.  Well done!
FC: Best combo for dessert for breakfast.
TA: Black bean hummus is soooo good!  YUM!
BBB:  Buffalo sauce in the morning!  Who Knew?
FC:  Just need a fire pit.
TA: Everything all in one! 
FC:  Holy crackers & caramel!  This is MF good!
BBB: Seriously! THE BEST!  Please put it in regular rotation!
JP:  a perfect breakfast treat!
TA:  DAYUMMMMMMMMMMMMM!
FC:  makes me want to pack my bags!
JP:  HOLY HIBISCUS!

WINNERS VS WINNERS! The competition is getting real REAL!  So close! All the great biscuits! There were several mentions of how hard the decisions were! In fact... some people couldn't decide on some of the ballot issues!

BISCUIT IN PARADISE(BP): Vanilla and toasted coconut biscuit with rum roasted pineapple and fluff by Caren Goss

SAM: Flavorful, packs a punch ina mini parcel. Love!
NC: Just the right balance of flavors.

PB:  After eating the BP, I truly felt like I was in paradise.  Amazing!
NC:  Surprising, in the best way!  Loved it!
SAM: OMG! Still as dazzling as before. 
NC:  YUM!
BP:  Always love the pineapple & coconut combo!
OB:  The tzatziki fluff is still my favorite.  Put it on everything!
BP:  A variety of textures while maintaining a subtle sweetness.  Very light
NC:  Almost a Nacho Cheese Dorito dipped in sour cream! Its my favorite!
BP: Pineapple fluff is a nice touch, makes it very refreshing.
NC: It has a very unique take on biscuits that makes you want to eat more.

SG: The gouda and spinach played off of each other impressively, acting as perfect accompaniments to the classic, down home biscuit-- my favorite of all four <3

HMC:  Perfect combo of ingredients.  Best name so far.
SG: Mucho Gouda!
G: Because I'm a thankful kind of girl. 
P:  I wish this biscuit was endless!  I really liked both, but the flavor combination makes this one win!
G: The flavor of the biscuit was on POINT!  Gratitude to the Biscuit Goddess! 
SG: You had me at Gouda!  The texture of the Gouda paired with onions and spinach just made my taste buds do the tango!
HMC: Lay me down in sheets of vanilla, I've had a busy day today.  I love you.
SG: If the smoked gouda & spinach biscuit were a person, it'd be everyones best friend. 
G:  I love thanksgiving food!  
HMC:  Because chocolate.
P: Im PBJ Crazy!
HMC: Melt in your mouth filing & a biscuit to die for! I want to savor it! Ahhhhh!
P: So fresh and such a good take on the original PB&J
SG: Love the flavor! Everything blends so nicely!
G: A little thanksgiving leftovers! 
HMC: Loved the texture with the almonds. The raspberries and vanilla fluff tasted like ice cream!
SG: Made my mouth dance!  
G: Sweet and salty! Amazing!
SG & G: How do I choose?!?!?  Delicious! Both please!
G: is an exciting journey for the palate: turkey and sage, followed by onion and parsley, then a celery and cranberry finish. This complex concoction is housed in a crunchy outside and soft inside biscuit.

A WILD BISCUIT TOURNAMENT THIS WEEK!  The flavors were all over the place and the biscuits were all wonderful!  A difficult choice for all the voters for sure!

SS: This biscuit had me feeling salty when i couldn't have another one.  Also, Maple. Nuff Said! 
TA: Black bean hummus ... What dreams are made of! 
BM: Tastes great!  Would make a good appetizer!
TA:  My fav!  Hardy full flavor!
FC:  The WOW factor is BIG! Great caramel flavor!
TA:  Who does not love roasted corn and poblanos?
SS:  Combo is a win every time!  Pecans add a nice crunch.  
BM:  Buffalo honey butter accents the biscuit!
FC:  Reminds me of camping out!  
BM:  This biscuit was awesome! great flavor and a hint of heat!
TA:  Black bean hummus is a real bonus!
SS:  Perfect balance of sweet & salty!  Tangy but not sour!
FC: Som more; som morewhat?  S'MORE FANCY CAMPER PLEASE!
TA: This aint now Texas speed bump.  The biscuit is delish! 
BM: Flavorful all the way to the end! 
FC: More like Glamper!  Woo Hoo@  Sophisticated take on a more with such a wonderful flavor.  Brings back childhood memories.  
TA: Must have biscuit!
FC:  This biscuit LITERALLY changed my life.
SS:  Maple & Pecans taste just like Christmas! 
FC:  Deliciously in-tents
BM:  A buffalo explosion in my mouth!
TA: full of Tex-Mex wonderfulness!
